This floating cabin is your own private paradise
The Raft at Chigborough

The Raft at Chigborough is located on a small, quiet lake in Essex county, England. Forget water-skiers and wakeboarders, speedboats and Sea-Doos crowding the lake, the only traffic here is from families of swans, geese, ducks and other aquatic wildlife. The two-storey cabin can sleep four and has two porches for outdoor relaxing.
There are two large glass doors that open the main room onto the wrap-around verandah. The living room has double sofa bed and a staircase that leads to the mezzanine.
The upstairs bedroom is small and cozy with two twin sized beds and its own private balcony. As you can see from its compact square-footage, visitors will spend most of their time on the spacious deck that’s covered for those notorious rainy England days.
The kitchen, complete with a barbeque, fridge and sink, is located outside on the deck. The hot tub and fire pit are on the bank, just a short raft ride away. There’s also a rowboat available for exploring the private lake.
A teak dining room set offers a beautiful view of the surrounding marsh and lake. Visitors are encouraged to pull out the beanbag chairs and telescope from the main room for extra comfortable stargazing.
Along the kitchen, the shower and bathroom are both located outside as well. And for those visitors worried about floating away, fear not. The raft is tethered to the bottom of the lake.
